carrieevans_bio-v3I’m a southwestern photographer, born and raised in sunny Scottsdale, AZ. When I was nine, I had a lemonade stand. People would buy a lemonade and I’d end up selling them my used and abused barbie dolls or a cabbage patch kids. These items would just suddenly pop up from under the table. Sales were good, but then one day I discovered the camera. That is when my true passion emerged.

I went to The University of Arizona and received a BFA in Fine Art Studies, photography. I ventured on to Richmond Virginia and received a master’s degree in mass communications from the country’s number one advertising school, Virginia Commonwealth University, Brandcenter. After school, I began my career and worked as an art director at an advertising agency coming up with catchy concepts for ad campaigns. I loved seeing my ideas come to life by art directing TV and print shoots for clients such as The Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority. I produced ads for the brand with the awesome and familiar tagline, “what happens here, stays here.” Busch Gardens was another fun client to create ads for their Halloween events. While in the advertising industry, I was always surrounded by photographers and TV directors. I was constantly inspired and knew that my talents with the camera had to become something more than a hobby. I created my own brand and applied my background in advertising to my new clients who are now magazines, brides, families, models and you. As you will see, my style is a mix of photojournalism and creative fashion-inspired portraiture. Every photo session, whether it’s a wedding, newborn, boudoir or a personal portrait, will be photographed and edited to fit its unique nature. Some of my work is dark, and some bright and cheerful. I can see and understand that each photo shoot should have its own style and never be the same as another piece of my work. I strive to capture real emotion that represents who you, your family and friends are. I want you to think of me as your friend and personal photographer. I want to document your most memorable experiences throughout your life…your first child, anniversaries, birthdays, holidays or anything that is special to you. I’d love to meet with you soon and share ideas.
