There are corporate events and then there are moments where you can feel a company stepping boldly into its next chapter. Photographing the Illumia Momentum Conference in Nashville was one of those experiences energized inspiring and filled with the kind of forward-thinking energy that makes this work so meaningful to me.
A Brand Evolution Years in the Making
I’ve had the privilege of working with this team since 2018, back when the company was known as Transact Education. Over the years, I have photographed their annual conferences across the country, documenting not just events but the evolution of a company and the people behind it.
This year’s conference marked a major milestone as Transact and CBORD officially came together under the newly launched Illumia brand. Watching that transformation unfold in real time and being trusted to capture it felt incredibly special.
Illumia’s work impacts higher education, healthcare, and campus environments through integrated payment and technology solutions that support everything from dining and credentialing to seamless cashless experiences. This was not just a rebrand; it was the beginning of an entirely new era for the company.
Bringing Vision and Leadership Into Focus
One of the most compelling parts of the conference was the leadership presence throughout the event. CEO Greg Brown delivered a vision-driven keynote that set the tone for the entire experience future-focused, collaborative and full of momentum.

Another standout moment from the conference was hearing keynote speaker Zack Kass, Global AI Advisor and former Head of Go-to-Market at OpenAI, share his perspective on the future of artificial intelligence and organizational innovation.
What I loved most about this session was how practical and grounded it felt. The conversation was not just about what AI could become someday it was about what organizations should be thinking about right now and how leaders can adapt to change in meaningful ways.
As a photographer, these are the moments I am always drawn to capturing the engagement, the reactions, the thoughtful conversations happening between attendees and the emotion behind the experience itself.

Of course, conferences are never just about what happens on stage. Some of the most meaningful images come from the in-between moments the laughter during networking conversations, the candid reactions during presentations, the celebration after award ceremonies and yes even the dance party moments that bring everyone together at the end of the day.
This event had such a dynamic rhythm to it. From keynote sessions and breakout conversations to candid team interactions, every part of the conference reflected movement, connection and excitement for the future.
And Nashville truly provided the perfect backdrop. The city’s energy paired beautifully with the atmosphere of the event making the entire experience feel even more memorable.
