maternity session in North Scottsdale

Amy & Alex Weber Maternity Photography in Phoenix

There are photoshoots… and then there are moments that feel still, emotional, and almost sacred in their own quiet way. Walking into this session with Amy and Alex, surrounded by open desert and soft light, I could feel right away that this was going to be one of those moments.

A Couple Rooted in Creativity and Intention

Amy and Alex Weber are both creatives in their own worlds. Amy, the visionary behind Desert Rain Interiors, and Alex, a custom home builder with Weber Custom Homes. What stood out to me instantly wasn’t just what they do, but how they carry themselves.

There’s a calm, grounded energy between them. The kind that doesn’t need to be loud to be felt. And in this season of their lives, that energy felt even more meaningful, steady, connected, and full of quiet anticipation.

Honoring a Season Before Everything Changes

This session was designed to capture that in-between moment, the space just before everything shifts in the most beautiful way. Maternity sessions like this aren’t about perfection; they’re about presence.

We wanted to preserve the feeling of this chapter. The stillness, the excitement, the deep connection they already share as they prepare to welcome their baby. It wasn’t about over-styling anything  it was about letting the moment speak for itself.

Letting the Desert Tell Part of the Story

We met at Pima Dynamite Trailhead in North Scottsdale, and it couldn’t have been a more fitting backdrop. The open desert, the soft glow of natural light, and the quiet surroundings created a space that felt intimate and expansive all at once.

Creatively, I focused on simplicity  letting the landscape frame them without distraction. The tones, the textures, and the light all worked together to enhance what was already there: connection, emotion, and authenticity.

The Joyful Energy of Bruce and Jax

And then, of course, there were Bruce and Jax the real scene-stealers.Getting them to look at the camera definitely required my best high-pitched squeaks and a few enthusiastic “what’s that?!” moments, but those little bursts of chaos brought so much life into the session.

Those candid, playful moments added a layer of personality that made everything feel even more real. It wasn’t just a maternity session, it was a glimpse into their life, exactly as it is right now.

Why This Session Meant So Much to Me

Sessions like this stay with me. Not because they’re elaborate, but because they’re honest.Being invited into such a meaningful, transitional moment in someone’s life is something I never take lightly. There’s a softness to it, a quiet depth that reminds me photography isn’t just about how something looks  it’s about how it feels.

Amy and Alex, your next chapter is already filled with so much love. It was truly an honor to capture this moment for you.I left this session feeling grounded and grateful, for the stillness, the trust, and the reminder that the quiet moments are often the most powerful.
