There are photoshoots… and then there are moments that remind you exactly why you love what you do, and capturing Alina’s journey into motherhood was absolutely one of them. From the second she stepped into the light, there was a sense of magic in the air that made this entire session feel like a beautiful, living dream.
A New Chapter for a Soon-to-Be Mama
Alina Andrade is someone who carries herself with such grace, but seeing her as an expectant mother adds a whole new layer of radiance to her spirit. She has this wonderful, calm energy about her that is just infectious, and I knew immediately that she is going to be such an incredible mama. It was a joy to spend the afternoon celebrating her and the life she is preparing to bring into the world.
Capturing the Art of Motherhood
The goal for this session was to step away from the traditional and lean into something much more editorial and high-fashion. Alina wanted images that felt beautiful, dreamy, and dramatic—photos that would serve as a powerful keepsake of this fleeting time. While my days are often filled with professional headshots and corporate branding, shifting gears into the soft, ethereal world of maternity portraiture was a breath of fresh air.
Playing with Shadow and Light
Creatively, I wanted to focus on the contrast between the soft, flowing textures of her wardrobe and some really bold, dramatic lighting. We worked to create a mood that felt both intimate and grand, using the shadows to highlight the stunning silhouette of her pregnancy. Every frame we captured felt like a piece of art, perfectly balancing that “dreamy” aesthetic with the raw, powerful emotion of becoming a parent.
Why This Session Stayed With Me
Photographing Alina was such a meaningful experience because it’s a reminder of the constant evolution we all go through.
