Feathers Custom Furnishings’ Scottsdale Furniture Design Photography Session

There are photoshoots that are beautiful from the moment I arrive, and then there are sessions that let me step inside the creative process itself.

Photographing Jenny Bagioli, Coco Franklin and Rosemarie Taxler for Feathers Custom Furnishings was one of those experiences a chance to capture three talented women taking the Feathers vision in an exciting new direction.

Three Creative Minds, One Extraordinary Vision

I loved photographing Jenny, Coco, and Rosemarie because each woman brings her own creative perspective while sharing the same passion for thoughtful design.Together, they represent the creative energy behind Feathers Custom Furnishings and its commitment to creating pieces that feel personal, elevated, and beautifully considered.

What stood out to me most was that they aren’t simply choosing furniture for a room. They are thinking about how each piece can become part of the story of a space.

Turning Design Ideas Into Something You Can Touch

This session was about more than photographing beautiful furniture. I wanted to capture the people and creative thinking behind the new Feathers furniture collection the craftsmanship, customization, and attention to detail that make these pieces feel truly special.

For me, that meant creating images that showed both the finished beauty of the collection and the personality behind the design process. The goal was to make the photographs feel polished enough for an editorial feature while still keeping the experience personal and authentic.

Where Craftsmanship Becomes Part of the Design

One of my favorite parts of the session was seeing how design and craftsmanship come together. The workshop environment gave me so many opportunities to photograph the details that can easily go unnoticed the materials, textures, finishes and hands-on process behind custom furniture.

I always love finding those little visual stories during a shoot. A close-up of a beautiful detail can sometimes communicate just as much as a wide photograph of an entire room, especially when the piece has been thoughtfully designed and crafted.

Capturing the Women Behind the Feathers Vision

I also wanted the photographs to celebrate Jenny, Coco, and Rosemarie themselves. Their energy was creative, confident, and collaborative, and I wanted that personality to come through in every frame.

Photographing designers is especially meaningful to me because I am constantly inspired by the way they see the world. They notice proportion, texture, shape, color and possibility and as a photographer, I get to translate that way of seeing into imagery.

A Session That Celebrated Creativity

I left this session feeling incredibly grateful to have witnessed the next chapter of the Feathers vision up close. There is something so rewarding about photographing people who aren’t afraid to create something distinctive and make their ideas tangible.

These are the sessions that remind me why I love editorial photography: I get to meet talented creatives, step into their world for a little while, and tell the story of what makes their work special.
